How to use the HQVCS service if you are an institution with one or two video terminals
If you are an institution with one or two video terminals, it is recommended that you join to the dialing video network through one of the existing Gatekeepers in the region. The video network will bring you several advantages, the main main would be:
a) Easier dialing and use of the video service, end-user just need to know and dial the remote conference of terminal number.
b) Dialing logs will be stored in the gatekeepers, and could be used to generate statistics
c) Future integration with Voice over IP networks
In order to connect to the video network, please follow the next steps:
• Register room in the RedCLARA’s directory service (SIVIC) and certificate your room (here)
• Register with the gatekeeper of your NREN or the Latin-American public gatekeeper.
You can register with the gatekeeper of your NREN or the free Latin-American gatekeeper. The lists of the gatekeeper are in the following table:

In order to register to the Open RedCLARA’s gatekeeper follow these steps:
- Go to your Network/H.323 Settings in your terminal
- Select the Gatekeeper configuration options
- Configure the RedCLARA’s open Gatekeeper IP address (200.0.206.151)
- Configure the H.323 Identifier (RedCLARA2)
- Choose a random number and configure it in the Alias/number configuration of the terminal, the number must comply with the GDS format :
00+56+2+<8 digit random number>
Save your configuration and try to call the test number 0056012010020
- If your terminal do not register, or if you have problems to dial, please review the above steps and try another number in step 5.
If you want to register to your NREN gatekeeper, the steps are similar, but you have to confirm with your NREN technician the proper parameters like the identifier.
